There are many ways to support our restoration initiative ranging from a quick donation to bequests. Here's how we've funded the work so far...

The Clan Mackenzie Charitable Trust

The CMCT is a registered Scottish Charity, set up in 1992 (No. SCO 19941) and is dedicated solely to raising money to complete the restoration of Castle Leod in order to give the building a secure future. Many of these donations have come from our friends in the Clan Mackenzie Societies both at home and from around the world. We are very grateful for the vital support given by the public through donations and attendance at CMCT fundraising events. 

Funding from the charity supports:

• restoring and conserving Castle Leod for people today and for future generations to enjoy
• the provision of access to enables entry for all visitors to the building and grounds
• educational, economic and cultural development in the Scottish Highlands

Become a Guardian of Castle Leod

If you would prefer to make a one-off payment to become a life-long Guardian of Castle Leod, a donation of £1000 or more can be made. Some people give this as an interesting and unusual gift for a special occasion. A Guardian of the Castle will receive a certificate of Guardianship signed by the Earl of Cromartie, Caberfeidh , Clan Chief of the Mackenzie’s and their name will be entered on the ‘Shield of the Guardians’ which is updated each year and hangs in the Castle entranceway.
